Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology

Pavel Balayan was born in 1950.
He received his education at YSU, Faculty of Philology, Department of Russian Language and Literature, (1967-1972). He is Candidate of pedagogical sciences, Assistant Professor:”Complex approach to the oral monologue communication for students-philologists in Russian Language”, ASPU.

In 1972-1977 he was Russian Language lecturer at SEUA, in 1977-1993 – lecturer, then senior lecturer of Russian language at YSU Faculty for Foreign Citizens, in 1993 – present senior lecturer, then assistant professor at the Faculty of Russian Philology, in 1996-2000 Deputy Dean of the faculty, in 2000-2003- Head of Chair of Russian Language (natural sciences faculties), 2003 -present Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology, in 1980 - 1984 lecturer of Russian Language at State University of Katmandu, Nepal.

He delivers lectures in the area of Modern Russian language morphology and Russian language teaching methodology. His academic interests’ area covers Russian linguistics and Language teaching methodology.

He is fluent in Armenian, Russian and English languages. He is the Chairman of the faculty council. He has been awarded Medal after Pushkin, Russian Federation State Award in 2007.

He has got 24 published researches, manuals, theses, speeches.
